2010's Beautiful Frost

FairyLand
One early morning right after my kitchen carpenter arrived last February, we looked outside and something magical had happened. We had what they call a "hoar frost". It happens when dew forms ice crystals and everything. The temperatures have to be exactly right and the ice crystals only last a short time if the sun comes out.
Even though there was over a foot of snow outside, we plodded through it to take pictures.
It was like a fairy land.

and "Blue Monday"

For the start of the new year I'm looking through my photos and putting up some of the memorable ones. I take tons of photographs so it's quite an undertaking!!
I will put them up periodically this month.

Have a great Monday

  2. Now that's beautiful! We have those every now and then and I love it! You got some really great photos of it, too.
I can't believe your ceiling weighs that much! Oh my gosh. The anitque mall that I managed had the original 12x24 tiles and they were fantastic! There is a building here in town that used to be the bank and it has the tiles on the ceiling and then another style on one wall. I love them!
Can't wait to see what other photos you dig up! It makes January fun!
