Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread

I saw this on Pinterest on several places so it sure looked good to me.
(And I have all this zucchini to use up!)

It's sort of like a bread type brownie!
I heated up the slice in the microwave just a little and put a little butter on it.
(Nothing like making it a little more fattening!)
It's good with ice cream too!!

See on Pinterest to get recipe:

Have a great day!!

Tasty Blackberry Cobbler

I found this recipe online.  It sounded so good I went out and got the blackberries and made it!
You'll need buttermilk and heavy whipping cream too, which I also had to get.
It was well worth it!
(I'll post the original site at the end.)
***********
Start with 3-4 cups of blackberries in a bowl
Add 1 C sugar
1/3 C flour
1 TBSP lemon juice
Toss gently and put in a greased 8 or 9 inch baking pan

In another bowl mix:
1 3/4 C flour
3 TBSP sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
Cut in 1/4 C shortening

Mix together 1/2 C whipping cream
and
1/2 C buttermilk
Add to dry mixture and mix
Spoon this dough over the blackberries
Brush the top with 2 TBSP melted butter
Sprinkle about 1-2 tsp sugar over top

Bake at 425 for 30 minutes.
Serve warm topped with cream or better yet, ice cream!

Here's where I originally got this recipe:

Hope you'll try it too!

Monkey Muffins!

OK, I HAVE to tell you about these little buns from heaven!!
I found this recipe on Pinterest and just decided to make them today.  Took me less than 5 minutes to get them in the oven.  So simple!

The recipe is at the end of the post.
I used Pillsbury grand biscuits in the tube.  I just had a short tube this time.
Butter and cinnamon & sugar on the bottom and on the top.

This is a can of sinfulness in itself!

Out of the oven and pour the sweeten condensed milk over the hot muffins.
A lot of it!

This is the point where I almost passed out, swooned, got the vapors or something!!
They are that wonderful!
They rival my mothers sticky buns made from scratch!!
You could probably put pecans on top of these before baking too.

If you love sweet, you've got to try them.

New Tea Pot and Homemade Scones

I bought this pretty tea pot on eBay last week and it just came.  Isn't it pretty.
Can't wait to use it.

I made some homemade scones today.
They turned out so good besides the fact that I will make them a little thicker (taller) next batch.
I have the blackberry jam and now I've got to find some Devonshire cream to make it truly English!

Here's the recipe I used for the scones.
They are really good.

Good But Not Good!

Looks delicious doesn't it.
 Well, it is.
But Ohhhhhhh, it is all sugar and dough and not good for you at all!!
Just saying'

My question is:  What's a "serving"???
Probably less than I ate!

Foodie Friday, Lemon Drizzle Cake

I am joining the ranks of the food people with a pretty cake.
See all the other fabulous morsels on Michael's blog, Designs by Gollum featuring the now famous "Foodie Friday".

Lemon (Drizzle) Cake

I got this recipe from this book I got at Marshalls a couple weeks ago. It has fabulous, delicious pictures which always sells me! I don't like cook books without pictures!

OK, Here's the recipe. But I'm warning you right up front . . . forget about steps 6 and 7!!!
They take a really good lemon cake and make it so sour that I actually threw my first piece away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, my mouth still wouldn't stop puckering!!! I had to have something sweet and have it fast! But I am getting ahead of myself!

Here's the steps 1 through 5. (I refuse to tell you 6 & 7!)
Grate a rind of one lemon and squeeze the juice. Should be about 3-4 TBSP.
Grease round pan with butter and place parchment paper on bottom.

Mix dry ingredients:
1 3/4 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 C superfine sugar

Mix wet ingredients in a separate bowl:
4 eggs whisked
2/3 C sour cream
Grated rind of one lemon
3-4 TBSP Lemon juice
2/3 C vegetable oil

Mix all together till blended well.

Pour into cake pan and bake in a preheated oven of 350 degrees for 45-60 min.

Now, FORGET ABOUT DOING STEPS 6&7!!
I quickly frosted my cake with a butter cream frosting. It would also be very good with a cream cheese frosting but I had a can of the butter cream on hand and I needed something sweet FAST!

Now, the cake was very good, moist and delicious. After all it was my birthday cake : ))

Nummmmmmmmmm
Have a sweet Friday.
