Yes, Sue (my sister), I'm posting a Foodie Friday post! Hope you all enjoy. I know I love reading wonderful recipes of real cooks, (that's not me)! Please visit Michael's blog and you'll see a list of some really scrumptious things! http://designsbygollum.blogspot.com/
My sister is always asking me "Well, where is your Foodie Friday"?? Remember when I said I really don't cook much, well I really don't. Yes, I did make some things for this "party" and maybe fooled you guys into thinking I actually did it everyday but nope, I don't. This is more my style, or I just buy a meal and bring it home to heat up or when I have a couple extra bucks I just stop and eat out!!
Now, I sort of consider this cooking as I'm actually browning the ground turkey! I then add the sloppy Joe mix, the can of tomato paste and the water. But then I add the secret ingredient that I add to any tomato based sauce. A big (huge) pinch of brown sugar!
To serve:
I can show you my cute fall plate. One of four I got after the season. I picked the one that was the least Halloweeny. My sister made that beautiful Thanksgiving card for me. I know it's past Thanksgiving too.
OK, back to this cookin' stuff:
Spoon the sloppy Joes onto a Kaiser bun and it's all ready.
A BIG bite. Mmmmm, it's really quite tasty. Must be the brown sugar.
Desert is cherry pie with ice cream. (I didn't make that either!!)
Oh, I have one more thing to add. Below is a photo of the breakfast I have everyday of my life!! I know you wonder how do I stand the excitement of my life! But, those are Eggo Waffles. Have you heard about the shortage of Eggos?? It's true; there was a flood in two of their factories some place and it is actually affecting my eating habits! I have had a horrible time finding any at all. I've already gone through my stash. Read here!! http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=120546896

ReplyDeleteLooks yummy.
I enjoy Sloppy Joes! Yum.
ReplyDeleteI also love Karen Carpenter! Haven't heard Bless the Beasts and the Children in a long time! Thank you!
I married a guy whose mother made sloppy joes and spaghetti with those mixes. They are plenty good enough. I love the cat plate, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm a sloppy joe gal, and these look wonderful--so does the pie. The cat plate is the adorable!
ReplyDeleteThat sloppy joe is just what's need to cut through the heavy excesses of the holiday season. Have a great Foodie Friday.
ReplyDeleteThat plate is just the cutest! Who doesn't love sloppy joes? yummy.
ReplyDeleteI love those plates. Even the patriotic ones are very cute. I should try and get some different ones for other occasions. I always think I need the whole set but you really don't do you.
