Satire
Yesterday Our beloved 33 year old Arab went to heaven.
He fell and broke his R. femur. An injury that can't be repaired in a horse.
He was is such pain. Thank God the vet got there right away and after hearing that there were no other options, we had him put to sleep.
This is a writing that Michele, my daughter, did last night. Him and her were so bonded together; there will never be another Satire.
My Life Changed Forever Today~
My heart is bleeding someone make it stop, I cry...but no one can
My life changed in an instant today...
Satire, my beloved Arabian Horse has gone home to the Heavens
I begged Jesus to come get him and show him all around
I asked for Ralphie to be come too
Ralphie has already crossed the Rainbow Bridge and was Satire’s buddy
My soul feels stunned, I feel the Black Emptiness starting to crawl over my soul
My life will NEVER be the same....NEVER EVER
Satire was a VERY special horse...
You could not understand unless you met him, he was the Arabian King
Remembered by many from his show days and touching the hearts of all
the people he met, truly ONE of a kind
Very smart, beautiful & talented even at age 33
With quite a personality to match and a Perfect Arab head
He had the power to make me laugh, cry or feel better even in my worst mood
I’m glad I was with him and he did not suffer long
I am BLESSED because he is a part of my life, his name is etched on my heart forever
It was a rainy bleak day but after Satire passed this amazing ray of sunlight came through
shining on him and I knew....he's running free with Ralphie
My heart is bleeding someone make it stop
I am afraid of the pain that is coming...God help me please
Satire
4/24/78 - 10/31/11
And the Lord said...
“Be still my beautiful creature...
See the streams & rolling hills of pasture
See the herd on the hill
They are waiting for you
Welcome Home”

Shirley, I am oh so sorry. I recently had to put my Heidi to sleep, it broke my heart and it still is. Just know someone is thinking of you....
ReplyDeleteI am shocked to hear about Satire. I feel a great saddness knowing that he is gone. He was a lucky horse to have such loving caretakers.

I am so sorry about the loss of your dear Satire. I used to have a horse years ago, and I know how precious they are and how it hurts to lose them. Again, my heart aches for you and Michele and I pray that you will be comforted in some sweet way. Sadly ~ Cindy
ReplyDeleteThe power of love we have for the precious animals in our lives is so wonderful when things are good but when they go bad the pain we feel is enough to tear our hearts out of our chests.
ReplyDeleteThe bond you shared with Satire is something so many people will never get to experience. How lucky you were to have each other.
I am so very sorry for the loss of your beloved Satire.
My heart will NEVER beat the same again~
ReplyDeleteOh Michele and Shirley,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of Satire's passing....hard way to go, Thank God the vet was quick.....he was such a blessing to all of you and he knew how much you all loved him, that is why he stayed with you so long.....just remember that Rainbow Bridge, by the time he got to the other side he was young and beautiful and healthy!!!! And you wil see him someday, I just know it! Hugs, Sandy

I have tears rolling down my face as I read your post. Losing a beloved animal is so heartbreaking. I know no way around the grief you and your daughter are facing. Sending prayers your way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful animal. I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear of Satire's passing. He is a beautiful horse. What a wonderful life he shared with you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. His memory will live on with you and one day when the pain isn't so sharp you'll look back and smile over your time with him.
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry. Those are beautiful poems.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your kind words and prayers. There is such a deep sadness inside us that it is hard to grasp that Satire won't be in the barn and nicker to us when we enter. We have to be satisfied with him now being only in our hearts, until we see him again.
ReplyDeleteShirley, I am so sorry for your loss.
