I'm joining in on the Vintage Thingies Thursday again this week. Suzanne, at "Colorado Lady", is our hostess. Visit her blog and see all the other participant's thingies!!
My Grandmother's Watch
This watch belonged to my Grandma Vorpe. She was my mother's mother. It is on a long necklace and hangs about at your diaphragm. The watch itself is small; only about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. A ladies watch.
The back (front?) of the watch is engraved with her initials. I don't know what the purple stones are in the necklace. Could they be amethysts??
The watch is 14K gold and is as beautiful inside as it is outside.
This piece is well over 100 years old and is a real treasure.
I hope you enjoyed seeing it.Shirley

What a lovely watch. Seeing as her watch is 14k gold, I think it would be a safe bet that the amethysts are genuine as well. Probably worth a small fortune to buy today.
