Hi all, this is my first Thrifty Thursday here in Bloggeritaville! Please everyone visit Leigh's blog at: http://lbratina.blogspot.com/ to see everyone's bargains!!
Now, this is the thriftiest bargain yet!!!! I "found" these while cleaning out my cellar. Now my cellar isn't all that huge but it's kind of dark, after all it's in an 1850 house! Both shelves were holding lots of stuff.
This one I will definetly paint white as it has a more cottage feel to it. The one below looks primitive.
This one was loaded with cans of "stuff" and was in the house in the cellar when we bought the house. I never even noticed it in the last 12 years!!!! Observant aren't I? Well, I'm cleaning my cellar out, that's how I ran across things! I love the shape of this one. It's out in the garage to be painted. Goes, with my primitive decor, don't you think?
Now, off to Goodwill!
This was more than I usually pay at GW ($7.00) but I liked the shape and will be great in my primitive type of decor. I might be painting it black and distressing it. You can use this shape this way or turning it upside down!
OK, I'm keeping it the way it is for awhile because I found the perfect place for it for right now.
4 nice little wooden bowls for $.50 each that I plan on painting, stenciling a star or two on, sanding and making them look primitive.
I got these two blue candle holders for $2.00 each and a whole box of hanging double candles for $3.00.
I usually never even get to the huge amount of clothes my Goodwill has but this week I did look through a few things. Picked up a nice black little jacket with hood and a short sleeve white top for 3.50 each. The little jar was part of my above things for $1.50. I'm collecting clear jars for my kitchen in case I ever get open shelves I can put all my stuff in them like flour, sugar, pasta, rice, beans etc. (If ever . .. )
Hope you all have a nice Thurs. It's supposed to be nice here and cooler temps. I'll be off to ride my horses all day.Shirley
Let me know when you are done with those little bowls ... super idea! Great load of finds ... TTFN ~Marydon
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. I look forward to seeing how your shelves are transformed. I was digging around my parents cellar for treasures (they live in a circa 1900 house) but I didn't come up with the same kind of finds that you did!
ReplyDeleteHi! I just found your blog over at Leigh's and wanted to say how much I am enjoying it! Come by mine and say HI!
