Crockpot Wednesday

Here's my recipe for Crock Pot Wednesdays! Thanks Debbie. I now have enough in my freezer for 3 more meals : )) Be sure to join Debbie at: http://diningwithdebbie.blogspot.com/
I'm sure they'll be some really good things to make.

Here's the recipe from the only book I have on the subject! Looked good and easy for a non- chef!

Chicken in Wine

2-3 lbs chicken breasts or pieces
10 3/4 oz can of Cream of Mushroom soup
10 3/4oz can of French onion soup
1 cup dry white wine, or chicken broth
(I couldn't make up my mind on the above so I used 1/2 cup each!)

1. Put chicken in crockpot.
2. Combine soups and wine and pour over chicken.
3. Cover. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
4. Serve over rice, pasta or potatoes.

It's 9 AM! I can't believe I'm fussing with chicken! I put some skinless breasts and thighs in the crockpot already. Here's the only other ingredients. Yes, that's wine in a box!! Well, it's only for cooking and it's a nice small amount instead of buying a whole bottle.

Put it all in the pot and put it on low. (For 6-8 hours).

Got home from being with the horses today and the house smelled so good! It's almost ready. The sauce was a little thin so I added some flour and cornstarch . . . just a little. I have to make a vegetable.

Here it is, served over wide egg noodles and carrots from my garden. Oh so sweet. The chicken is so tender, it falls apart. The sauce is delicious!
Thanks for visiting everyone. Please leave a comment. I LOVE those : ))
I'm very full. Ate too much!

  1. I really wanted to join in this week but just haven't had the time.
I will try to overlook the wine in a box this time. It does look good. That is the best part of this whole idea. Coming into a great smelling home.

  4. This is the kind of recipe I like. My daughter once said that I don't cook, I assemble.
