Another Couple Little Changes

Thank you Susan for hosting this event. It keeps us wanting to change things and improve. I think you are one handedly helping the economy!!! : )) Please everyone go see Susan's wonderful post of the week and then visit all the participants! http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

This is how the chandelier in the dining room has been for years so I thought it needed a little change. (To get ready for my new dining room furniture if I ever find it!)

I got these little shades at Hobby Lobby on sale for $2.00 each. It does change the whole look of the chandelier don't you think. I wish they had had a light gold color but they didn't. What do you think?? (I know, I did straighten the crooked shades!)

This is the curtains that were in my living room. Very blah and faded.

Took me all of 10 minutes to make these. I like the color and check much better.
Well, I have to go look at everyone's ideas now.
Have a great Monday.

  1. Hi Shirley, I am back in town. Missed everyone this weekend. I like the black shades. What is the light like with them on? Very soft I would imagine.

  2. Yes, very soft and most of the light is directed downward which is good. Thanks Lori for always stopping by : ))

  4. The lampshades on the chandelier really changed the look...I like it a lot. I like the darker color curtains as well...they really show so nice against your wall.

  7. The black shades really change the look! I love them. Thanks for looking at my chairs. I felt the same way as you. It's getting worse every year. People don't want to pay the high price of upholstry. I decided to teach myself. It took a while to get the process down. I used a few very cheap simple chairs. If you have better than medium sewing skills, you can do it. Let me know if you try it!

  8. Looks great! I really like the look of the darker shades, I believe. Isn't it amazing how even the smallest change can make such a huge difference? Mister Linky is up and ready for your entry for this week's Crock Pot Wednesday. Hope you are having a great day. diningwithdebbie.blogspot.com
