Rocky Dog

Thanks Kelli for hosting this event. Hope you all don't mind me talking about my doggy!

I put this on the Show and Tell event because I don't know of anyone doing events for our dogs or pets. If anyone knows of one please let me know. Maybe I should start "Woof, Woof Wednesday"!!!!

OK, it was love at first sight. Rocky was only 6 weeks old when we went to see him the first time. We waited another week then brought him home.

That was then, this is now.
This is Jack's Elhew Rockford. (Rocky) He's an English Pointer. A great hunter and field trial dog. Jack always wanted his own hunting dog so he got Rocky as a 7 week old pup and told me it was my birthday present. I had always had labs before. Pointers are much faster!!!!!! Jack only got to hunt with him a couple years before the leukemia made him too weak. The guys say how proud he would be of Rocky now.

Isn't he a beauty!! Rocky is 7 years old now. He is looking forward to pheasant hunting season in November! My late husband's best friends come and pick Rocky up and take him. There's nothing a pointer would rather be doing; it is amazing to watch them work a field back and forth.

Rocky was watching a golfer I think. He's way in the back by my overgrown garden. Pointers don't sit real still for photos!
These 3 photos were taken by my daughter. See her website at:
Thanks, Shirley

  2. Could the poor guys ears be any bigger. We love our lab but I must say this dog is even more beautiful than the labs are. What a stunning animal. Smart too. Wow.

I have a grand-dog, named Rocky too. My son adopted him last spring after purchasing his first home. It would be a toss up as to which dog has the longest~ floppiest ears!

  17. PS. Your daughter is an amazing photographer! I really enjoyed looking at her site. I just started doing photography on the side. I've taken pictures for a while now, but just rescently started to charge for it. Got a long ways to go before I'm anywhere near your daughter's ability! But, wow! What awesome pictures! I know you're proud. Thanks for sharing her site.
