My Dad

My Dad
Little Memories on this Father's Day
This is my father. He was the best father ever. I had a story book childhood that I wish I would've enjoyed more when I was a kid. But you don't, you just let life go by. I never heard my parents argue, (except maybe when they were wallpapering together : )) They loved each other and it showed. My father was hard working and gave us everything we needed. When we were young a big treat was to go to the beach. We would wait till Dad got home and then got to go to Presque Isle and swim in Lake Erie. Dad also had a little boat that we went fishing on. Before that we fished off "the rocks" or off a little bridge on the bay. When we got a little older we got to take horseback riding lessons. I LOVED horses even when I was teensy. I also have a vivid memory of the first time I rode a two wheeler bike. Dad held the back of the seat and I remember him saying "I've got you, I've got you". Of course he had to let go at some point and I was riding on my own. Funny the things that stick with you.
Thanks Dad For all the wonderful memories.
I love you.

  8. He was the kindest man. I remember waking him up in the middle of the night because there was something in algebra that I didn't understand. He sat with me at the kitchen table explaining it until I finally got it. After my daughter was killed and he found me crying he was always there to give me a hug and shed a tear with me.
